The new and hopeful young "girl" suffered intensely for weeks afterward with abdominal pain and discharge from a vagina that had much too narrow an entrance to serve its intended purpose. It was found that an abdominal abscess had formed and a new operation was required for its removal. At the same time the entrance to the vagina was widened.
